Eieieio / Gorgeous Split EP out Friday 7/16 + singles out now

we are so excited to finally announce this project that has long been in the works - a truly outstanding split record from label mates Gorgeous (NYC) and new band old friends Eieieio (Hadley, MA). months in the making, this collaboration brings two absolute shred factory powerhouses together for 17 minutes of exhilarating rock. the full split is out Friday, July 16th, 2021.

the first two singles "okokOK" (Eieieio) and "Raindrop" (Gorgeous) premiered via the one and only Post-Trash. Read a bit of what Dan G has to say below and check out the songs.

"okokOK” is their single from the split, a song that finds Kochanski on lead vocals as the band rip like a tidal wave crashing into an avalanche. It’s combustible upon impact with transfixed vocals, jaw dropping rhythms, and bleeding skronk, all jammed into one and a half brilliantly chaotic minutes."

"“Raindrop” which knowingly stumbles around with collapsed time signatures and shape shifting rhythms. The whole song stream rolls forward, jittering between sludge and their own strange sort of twee melodic sensibility. It’s heavy but sweet, deranged but catchy, and it marks a great new offering from the the acerbic Gorgeous."

This New Basement "Scatter" out May 13th + first single "Zebra Speak" w/ video out now

what a wait it has been! This New Basement (formerly Vishnu Basement) are back with their third record, Scatter out May 13th. Some long time followers will know that the genesis of this record label was an effort to secure a more formal release for . . .Basement's 2014 record Strange Machine. It has been a long seven-plus years since that series of (fortunate) events occurred, and as is to be expected, both the label and the band have evolved. Now spread across the US, This New Basement worked piecemeal on Scatter, working with compositions that germinated in 2015, recording whenever possible over a four year period.

The result is a sprawling, elevated record that shows a maturation in the sound and style that they've so distinctively championed since 2013. The hypnotic "Cryptid" is reminiscent of the seminal "The Mythic Rot" from Bulb but with a newfound passion for futurism, and guest vocals from Freaking's Sam Robinson. ""I Don't Mind The Taste!"" is an absolute howler, and something of a new ethos for TNB. Marked by vocals from Landowner's Dan Shaw, it is a times nearly a straightforward punk song, and at other a lugubrious knee knocker. As is always the case, each song expresses a seemingly new modality, each member of the quartet repeatedly finding new ways to enmesh with their counterpart and the whole.

The first track, the outstanding "Zebra Speak" is out today with an accompanying video from Emma Fritschel. The video can be seen here:
