Jinzo "Here's The Meat" out 9/26 + first single "Great Zest" out today

we're incredibly thrilled to announce Jinzo's debut record "Here's The Meat" coming out in collaboration with Bee Side Cassettes on September 26th. Jinzo (mems Free Casino) are unbelievably good, and this record is the culmination of years of hard work. We're so excited to be working on it.

Jinzo is a brand new Queens-based trio who combine post-punk misanthropy with egg punk's furious tempos, a dash of math rock frenzy, and a heavy dollop of free improvisation. Drawing on influences such as Slint, Deerhoof, and Palm, the band channels a sound that is rhythmically enmeshed with its core instability, generating the feeling the song may fall apart at any moment. Guitarist Sean Saville's background in jazz fusion and math rock ensures an attention to detail alongside a trapeze act-style attitude towards theatrical, daring playing. Andy Stone keeps pace at every step, coordinating his drums with Saville's guitar aplomb as if the two are interlocked in a red hot dance. Bassist/vocalist Jordan Germ's deadpan delivery weaves tawdry tales of reality TV binges and pro-wrestling nightmares against this uncanny backdrop, constantly implying that these petty indulgences take place against the backdrop of a much harsher and less forgiving reality. The combined effect the musicians achieve together creates an atmosphere of dread that nevertheless makes one want to pogo around the room. Vitality and energy are the two distinguishing features that make this band stand out against the sea of like-minded acts in their scene.

Algae Dust announce new record "Rearranging" out 9/5 + first single "Filling Station" out now

we're thrilled to be working on Algae Dust's next record Rearranging, due out September 5th. following in the footsteps of 2023's excellent In Hindsight, the quartet has grown and expanded their sound in the writing of this record. The first single, the rollicking "Filling Station" is out everywhere now, and the record can be pre-ordered digitally via our website or the Algae Dust bandcamp.

The project of Algae Dust began as Al Setili's first solo project and has since evolved into a collaborative trio. Setili is joined by Gram Tolish on drums - the two reuniting a few years after playing together in their former band, Frankie Valet - Hannah Rainey of Shady Bug on guitar/ bass, and Eric Grumke on keys.

this will be a digital-only release, but we still have plenty of copies of In Hindsight tapes and CD's on our web-store. A purchase of those will come with both albums as a digital download.

more soon!
